Neuhof is a district of the town of Bad Sachsa in the Göttingen district in Lower Saxony . The place is southeast of the Northeim – Nordhausen railway line and the Bad Sachsa railway station .

history

In earlier times Neuhof was best known for its plaster work.

The place Neuhof traditionally belonged to the Free State of Braunschweig and after the Second World War was one of only six member communities of the remaining district of Blankenburg with its seat in Braunlage . On July 1, 1972, the district of Blankenburg dissolved by virtue of the Harz Act ; the community of Neuhof fell to the district of Osterode am Harz and was incorporated into Bad Sachsa immediately afterwards.

The Neuhof substation is a 110 kV substation in Neuhof. It was put into operation in 1985.

There is a partnership with Bockau , a municipality in the Erzgebirgskreis in Saxony . The place is known as a herbal and laboratory technician place; he is nicknamed Laborantendorf of the Ore Mountains .

In 2009 Neuhof celebrated its 750th anniversary.

The gold stands for the grain fields around Neuhof, the abbot stands for the Walkenried monastery and the carp for the fish ponds around Neuhof.

Attractions

The Sachsenstein cliffs are a natural monument on the Sachsenstein between Bad Sachsa and Neuhof. The granite ledges, which are up to 320 meters high, are part of the Harz cliffs .

The nature reserve Gipskarstlandschaft Bad Sachsa and Walkenried lies to the west directly adjacent to the place.

The 315 hectare Priorteich / Sachsenstein nature reserve is north of Neuhof. The Northeim – Nordhausen railway line and the Karst hiking trail pass the former Sachsenstein Castle .
