Location of Neuland in Lower Saxony |
Neuland ( Low German Neeland ) is a district of the Engelschoff community located on the Oste , which is part of the Oldendorf-Himmelpforten community.
The village of Neuland an der Oste was first mentioned in a purchase agreement in 1337 in the Stader Stadtbuch. Probably already at the time of the Stade Counts , but no later than the time of Archbishop of Bremen Siegfried I von Anhalt (1180–1184), no more than ten settlers founded the village of Nigenlande . The village was most important in the early modern period. With two windmills it had a special position in the eastern region.
Neuland belonged to the parish of the Marienkirche in Großenwörden from the beginning and was therefore subordinate to the office of Vörde ( Bremervörde ). From 1648 it belonged to the Himmelpforten office , from 1852 to the east office , from 1885 to the Neuhaus / Oste district and from 1932 to the Stade district . Since July 1, 1972, new land has belonged to the Engelschoff community.
