Neustädterhof is a wasteland and part of the city of Obernburg am Main .
location
Neustädterhof is located on the lower reaches of the Mömling between the Eisenbach district of Obernburg and the municipality of Mömlingen . The district is about halfway between the two places. It can only be reached by car via federal highway 426 and a bridge over the Mömling. Coming from Mömlingen and Eisenbach, the wilderness can be reached by bike and on foot via the 3-country cycle path .
history
The first written mention of the small settlement comes from the year 1113. At that time, the municipality was designated as Nuwenstat with its own boundary . Before Neustädterhof was merged into the complex that exists today, the settlement consisted of several Hub estates . Neustädterhof was an independent community with its own parish church until the beginning of the 19th century, before it was incorporated into the neighboring town of Eisenbach around 1830. The small church, the “mother church”, was the spiritual center for the surrounding villages; it was dedicated to John the Baptist . The church was demolished in 1864.
Today the solitude of Neustädterhof consists of a collection of buildings that belong to an estate - hence the name -hof . The main courtyard was a fortified aristocratic estate, which was secured with two corner towers that are no longer in existence today . Large parts of the current building complex house a riding school and stables of the riding and driving club Obernburg . The Bacheburg is located a few dozen meters in the direction of Mömling, in a wood in the middle of a field . It has a historical connection to Neustädterhof, as the place was once owned by the Bache von Neustadt family , who were buried in the local church. The Bache were a branch of the aristocratic Rosenbach family . To the southwest in the direction of the forest, only a few meters behind today's Hofgut, was the defunct Schneirersbuckel tower hill , the forerunner of the Bacheburg castle .
Culture and sights
The ruins of the Bacheburg are a cultural monument . Remains of the historic Neustädterhof settlement visible above ground are no longer available.
