Neuweiler is the second largest district of Sulzbach / Saar in the Saarbrücken regional association , Saarland .

location

Neuweiler is located in the south of the city on the city limits to St. Ingbert on and on the slopes of the ridge between Sulzbach and Scheidtertal.

history

Neuweiler originated in the area around the Neuweiler Hof, which was built in 1712. For this reason the place is still called "de Hof" today.

Neuweiler was incorporated into Sulzbach in 1876.

From 1952, the city began to acquire individual properties in the Neuweiler Bruchwiesen in order to develop them for industrial purposes.

Culture and sights

The nearby Burning Mountain , which was visited by Goethe and described in poetry and truth , is still a sight today.

Buildings

A striking building in Neuweiler is the Catholic Church of St. Hildegard, built between 1956 and 1957 according to plans by Gottfried Böhm . It is listed as an individual monument in the Saarland list of monuments .
