Nevogilde is a municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Portuguese county of Lousada . It has 2617 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

history

The community was probably formed during the repopulation in the course of the Reconquista , but the name is of Visigoth or other Germanic origin. In the royal surveys of 1258 , the community appears as Novigildo or Novigildiz as a separate community. It belonged to the district of Aguiar de Sousa to belong to Lousada in connection with its dissolution since 1852 .
