New Boston is a city in Bowie County in the US state of Texas in the United States and the administrative center of this county.

The city is located 35 km west of Texarkana on US Highway 82 and the Missouri Pacific Railroad , almost in the extreme northeast of Texas, is 13 km to the north from Oklahoma , 35 km to the east from Arkansas and has a total area of 9.0 km² without notable water surface.

According to the 2000 census, 4,808 people in 1,968 households and 1,334 families lived here. The population density was 531.9 inhabitants per km². The racial the population was composed of 79.49% White, 17.64% African American, 0.75% Native American, 0.27% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, and 0.44% other ethnic groups. About 1.31% were of mixed race and 1.46% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 1,968 households, 32.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 47.8% of these were married couples living together. 17.6% were single mothers and 32.2% were non-families. 30.1% of all households were single households and there were people living in 15.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.96 people.
26.6% of the population were under 18 years old, 7.8% 18 to 24, 25.2% 25 to 44, 21.5% 45 to 64, and 18.8% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 82.1 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 74.7 men.
