The Newport Stadium is part of the Newport International Sports Village ; a large sports complex in the Welsh town of Newport . The area is located in the southeast of the city and offers facilities for various sports.
The stadium
The stadium with an athletics facility that meets international standards was inaugurated in 1993 and currently has 4,700 seats. They are distributed over the covered main and opposite stands and a standing room in the north curve of the stadium. The two football clubs AFC Newport County (from 1994 to 2012) and FC Llanwern as well as the athletics club AC Newport Harriers mainly use the stadium. The venue meets the requirements of the Conference National League. In December 2006 the old floodlights were replaced by a 500 lux system. In 2007 the career path was renewed.
