Nicholas D'Antonio Salza

Nicholas D'Antonio Salza OFM (born July 10, 1916 in Rochester , New York , † August 1, 2009 ) was prelate of Inmaculada Concepción de la BVM en Olancho .

Life

On June 7, 1942, Nicholas D'Antonio Salza received the sacrament of ordination .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 28, 1963 as prelate of Inmaculada Concepción de la BVM en Olancho (from 1987 diocese of Juticalpa) and on April 9, 1966 as titular bishop of Giufi Salaria . The episcopal ordination took place on July 25 of the same year by the Archbishop of Baltimore Lawrence Cardinal Shehan ; Co- consecrators were Sante Portalupi , Apostolic Nuncio in Honduras and Nicaragua , and Bernardino N. Mazzarella OFM, Bishop of Comayagua . On August 6, 1977, Pope Paul VI. his resignation.

In 1994 he made a pilgrimage to Medjugorje and, at the invitation of Paul Hnilica, was a participant in the tenth anniversary of the pilgrimage site.
