Nick Martens (born September 11, 1982 in Ann Arbor , Michigan ) is an American ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Hannover Indians from the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2009/10 season .
Career
Martens began his career in 1999 in the North American Hockey League for the Texas Tornado. There he played until 2001, before he was on the University of Michigan team for four seasons .
He started his professional career in 2005 with the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League . In the 2006/07 season he moved between the San Antonio Rampage and Cincinnati Cyclones from the ECHL and back to the AHL to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers . After Martens had started the 2007/08 game year in the Austrian ice hockey league with the EC Graz 99ers , the defender moved to the 2. Bundesliga for REV Bremerhaven in the course of the season in Germany . There he scored 19 points scorer in 41 games. In the summer of 2008 he left the club again and joined the Hungarian club Alba Volán Székesfehérvár , with whom he was again active in the Austrian ice hockey league. After he did not renew his contract there, the managers of the Hanover Indians signed him in 2009 .
