Nick Mdoreuli (born December 19, 1996 in Tbilisi , Georgia ) is a German-Georgian futsal and soccer player .

Life

Mdoreuli grew up with his grandmother in Tskhinvali , the capital of the disputed Republic of South Ossetia . His father left the family, while his mother died shortly thereafter. After the death of his grandmother in 2014, Mdoreuli fled to Germany and found shelter in Bielefeld . There he obtained his secondary school leaving certificate and began training as an office management clerk . In the summer of 2018, his asylum application was rejected, so that he was threatened with deportation . In July 2019 Mdoreuli received an apprenticeship tolerance .

Career

Futsal

Mdoreuli started his futsal career in 2016 with the Black Panthers Bielefeld . In his first season he and his team were autumn champions. Mdoreuli was the second top scorer with 29 goals and top scorer in the league with a total of 29 goals and 36 assists. In the following season Mdoreuli made 22 goals and 23 assists and won the turbulent Bielefeld derby 7-5 with his team. Here Mdoreuli scored the decisive goal. Nick Mdoreuli was nominated for the first time for the German national futsal team in April 2018 . Since he did not have a German passport at the time, he could only participate in the training units and courses. He was denied participation in the games. In the 18/19 season Mdoreuli was the league's top scorer for the first time with 40 goals (a record since the beginning of league history) in 15 games. In summer 2019 Mdoreuli switched to the Futsal Panthers Cologne, where he scored three goals against UFC Münster in his first competitive game . Mdoreuli scored ten goals in eight games before he went back to Bielefeld. Mdoreuli has been playing there for the MCH Futsal Club Bielefeld-Sennestadt since January 2020 . He crowned his move with the title of West German Champion and qualified together with his team for the German championship. In total, Mdoreuli scored 17 goals and 14 assists in 13 games in the 2019/20 season.

Soccer

Mdoreuli played in the youth team of VfB Fichte Bielefeld and moved up to the first team in 2015. With VfB Fichte, he was relegated from the Westphalia League at the end of the season . During the following season 2016/17 Mdoreuli moved to league rivals Spvg Steinhagen . During the 2018/19 season, he then switched to the Westphalia division VfL Theesen .
