Nico Beeler (born March 3, 1993 in Jona ) is a Swiss volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career indoor volleyball

Beeler started playing indoor volleyball in 2005 with his brother Luca at TSV Jona. In 2012, the outside attacker moved to the NLA for Volley Näfels , where he played until 2014. At the same time, he trained the youth volleyball team in Jona.

Career beach volleyball

Beeler has been playing beach volleyball since 2013 and was immediately voted “Youngster of the Year”. In 2014 Marco Krattiger was his partner. Beeler / Krattiger won the national Coop Beach Tour in Olten and were U22 European Champions in Fethiye, Turkey . From 2015 Beeler played with Alexei Strasser . At the FIVB Open in Lucerne , Beeler / Strasser took fourth place. On the Swiss tour they won in Basel and Rorschach in 2015 and in Locarno in 2016 . On the FIVB World Tour 2016 , the duo finished ninth in the Grand Slam in Rio de Janeiro and in the Major in Gstaad . In Vaduz , Beeler / Strasser competed in their last joint tournament on the European stage and won the tournament. In August 2016, Beeler won the national tournament in Basel with his former partner Krattiger. After reaching the Swiss runner-up in Bern in September 2016, Beeler and Strasser parted ways. Since 2017 Krattiger has been Beeler's standard partner again. Beeler / Krattiger won on the Coop Beach Tour in Locarno and took ninth place on the FIVB World Tour at the 5-star tournament in Fort Lauderdale , fourth place at the 3-star tournament in The Hague and ninth place at the 5-star tournament in Gstaad.

Private

Beeler is completing a teacher training course at the PH Luzern .
