Nicolae Sorin Mitrofan (born March 26, 1999 ) is a Romanian ski jumper .

Career

Nicolae Sorin Mitrofan started internationally for the first time as part of two FIS races in Râşnov in February 2012. He then made his debut on June 9, 2012 also in Râşnov in the FIS Cup , where he finished 30th. Since then he has taken part regularly in other FIS Cup competitions in the following years; his best placement so far (as of March 2020) was a 16th place in September 2015. Mitrofan made his debut on August 22nd and 23rd, 2015 in Kuopio in the Continental Cup , where he finished 51st and was disqualified once. This was followed by further starts, but so far he has not been able to achieve a top 30 placement and thus Continental Cup points.

At the Romanian Championships in 2012 in Râşnov Mitrofan won the gold medal in the team competition together with Remus Tudor and Ştefan Blega .

At the European Olympic Winter Youth Festival 2015 in Tschagguns Mitrofan came fifth in the individual competition; in the team competition he reached seventh place together with Bianca Elena Stefanuta , Ştefan Valentin Blega and Raluca Iulia Stefan . At the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer , Mitrofan took 15th place in the individual competition. He also started in the individual and team competition at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2015 in Almaty , 2016 in Râșnov , 2017 in Soldier Hollow , Utah and 2018 in Kandersteg , but did not achieve any top placings.

In the 2017/18 seasons Mitrofan won the overall ranking of the FIS-Carpath-Cup .
