Nicolas Raschauer

Nicolas Raschauer (born September 28, 1976 in Vienna , Austria ) is an Austrian lawyer and until 2014 was Professor of Public Commercial Law at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz . Raschauer then worked as of counsel at the law firm Cerha Hempel Spiegelfeld Hlawati GmbH in Vienna. Since July 2016 Raschauer has been teaching as professor for banking and financial market law at the University of Liechtenstein.

Life

Raschauer studied law at the universities of Salzburg and Vienna . From 2002 to 2003 he was a consultant for the Financial Market Authority in Vienna. From 2003 to 2009 he was assistant professor at the Vienna University of Economics , where he in 2008 with a thesis on "structural problems of the European and Austrian banking supervision law" habilitation ( venia docendi for the subjects of European law , constitutional law and administrative law ). From 2005 to 2008 he was a substitute member of the BMI Human Rights Advisory Board .

Raschauer was a technical college lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Vienna (2006–2008), lecturer at the University of Vienna (2007–2009), at the Danube University Krems (2006–2010) and the University of Salzburg (since 2007). From 2009–2014, Raschauer was Professor of Public Law at the JKU Linz , where he was Head of the Department of Public Company Law and Deputy Director of the Institute for Constitutional Law and Political Science . 2010–2014, Raschauer was also a substitute member of the JKU Senate . In September 2010, he was appointed university professor at the Institute for Environmental Law at the JKU (second allocation).

Raschauer worked for numerous legal journals (including RdU, FaBl). Since 2006 he has been co-editor and editor of the magazine for financial market law . Raschauer is also a member of leading German-speaking legal associations (VdStRL, ÖJT, ÖJK, ÖVG). 2011–2016, Raschauer published the online trade journal Spectrum of Law in Jan Sramek-Verlag. From 2013–2016, Raschauer was also the deputy chairman of the steering committee of the Economics and Law section of the Austrian Water and Waste Management Association .
