The Niederelbehütte is a refuge of the Hamburg and Niederelbe section of the German Alpine Association . It is located in the Austrian state of Tyrol in the Verwall group at an altitude of 2310  m above sea level. A. and is open from July to September.

history

The hut was built in 1930 and 1931. In the early 1960s, a material ropeway was built to facilitate the transportation of goods. In the course of the expansion in 1966 and 1967, an electricity station was built, the dining room was expanded and central heating and cold and hot water supplies were installed. In 2001 the roof and windows were renewed.

Accesses

The hut can be reached by train and bus via Landeck to Kappl im Verwall or by car directly to Kappl, from there continue on foot,

  • past the Alpengasthof Dias in two to three hours,
  • from the Ulmich district through the Fatlartal (also called the Blumental ) in about three hours,
  • via Sinsen along the Sessladbach via the lower Sessladalm also in three hours,
  • with the slide railway to the slide and from there in two hours via the Kieler Höhenweg or the road through the Sessladtal.
