The Kaltenberghütte is an alpine club hut of the Reutlingen section of the German Alpine Club in Verwall and is located in Vorarlberg , Austria . It was originally built exclusively for winter operation. After the Reutlinger Hütte burned down in 1953, it was also used in summer as an alternative. The winter operation became uneconomical due to the absence of guests, so that the winter season 1990/91 was the last. Now it is only in operation during the summer months, there is a winter room that is accessible at all times with the Alpine Club key.

The hut, built in 1928, stands above Stuben in Klostertal on the Bludenzer Alpe. There are several smaller lakes near the hut. There is an unobstructed view of the southern Lechquellen Mountains and the southwestern area of the Lechtal Alps .
