The Darmstädter Hütte is an alpine club hut of the Darmstadt-Starkenburg section of the German Alpine Club in the municipality of St. Anton am Arlberg in the Verwall group in Tyrol .
Refuge
The Category 1 refuge is located at an altitude of 2384 m above sea level. A. im Moostal and has a total of 77 beds, 8 of which are in a winter room.
Approaches
From St. Anton am Arlberg ( 1304 m ) you can reach the Darmstädter Hütte in about 3.5 hours. The starting point is the parking lot of the old Rendlbahn (cable car). The ascent from Ischgl ( 1377 m ) over the Doppelseescharte ( 2786 m ) takes about 5 hours.

- Saumspitze ( 3039 m ): walking time approx. 2.5 hours
- Scheibler ( 2978 m ): walking time approx. 2 hours
- Faselfadspitze ( 2993 m ): walking time 1½ to 2 hours, climbing UIAA II

Transitions to other huts
- Niederelbehütte via Kartell reservoir and Seßladjoch: walking time approx. 4 hours
- Niederelbehütte via Kieler Wetterhütte : walking time approx. 5½ hours
- Konstanzer Hütte via Apothekerweg and Kuchenjoch: walking time approx. 4 hours
- Friedrichshafener Hütte : walking time approx. 5–6 hours
Trivia
Approx. Just under an hour's walk above the house there are still large wreckage of a school airplane that hit the Kuchenspitze ( 3,148 m ) with five men on board in 1944 , was transported from the Kuchenferner down into the valley and, after it melted, was left on scree at an altitude of about 2,650 m.
