St. Christoph am Arlberg has become known for its central and important role in the development of alpine skiing and Austrian ski teaching, based on the former St. Christoph sports center and its former directors, including Stefan Kruckenhauser and later Franz Hoppichler . Today's Federal Ski Academy is under the leadership of the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) and serves primarily as a training center for state ski instructors and trainers and for sports students.

In this village is also the Hospiz St. Christoph  , built in the 14th century - originally a hostel in the sense of a refuge , which offered travelers refuge from the capricious weather, over time it was converted into an inn, then into a hotel in the 20th century and today the Represents the settlement core of the village. Today the place is the seat of the brotherhood of St. Christoph and houses some exclusive hotels and cozy inns. The branch church (Kaplaneikirche) hl. Christophorus at the hospice is a listed building.
