The Lower Saxony Asparagus Route pays homage to the precious vegetable asparagus , which is grown in northwest Germany in the area between Braunschweig and Lüneburg , between Bremen , Cloppenburg and Vechta , from Nienburg / Weser via Hoya to Soltau .

The Asparagus Road is approx. 750 km long and connects the tourist regions of Lüneburg Heath , Hanover and the surrounding area, Braunschweiger Land , Mittelweser and Oldenburger Münsterland .

It was initiated by the Lower Saxon Asparagus Route eV and represents a counterpart to the German Wine Route , the Lower Saxony Mühlenstrasse and the German Fairy Tale Route .

A section of the Asparagus Route runs from Burgdorf via Nienburg / Weser, Bruchhausen-Vilsen and Bassum to Sulingen . The Lower Saxony Asparagus Museum has been located in Nienburg since 2005 .
