Niederstetten is an almost 1,800 hectare landscape protection area in the district of the city of Niederstetten in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg . It was designated by ordinance of October 14, 1992 (LSG number 1.28.012).
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose of the landscape protection area is:
- the preservation of special topographical formations and landscape elements that shape the character of the landscape in their diversity, uniqueness and beauty. Particularly noteworthy are the near-natural flowing waters, the blades and side valleys as well as the stone bars;
- the protection of ecological compensation areas as a retreat for animal and plant species, in order to guarantee the greatest possible biodiversity. Here, the slopes in particular, with their diverse mosaic of use, represent ecologically valuable biotopes;
- securing the entire landscape as a valuable recreational area for the general public.
