List of landscape protection areas in the Main-Tauber district

In the Main-Tauber-Kreis , there are 14 landscape conservation areas. The oldest landscape protection area in the district is the Main-Tauber-Tal area , established in 1953 , and the youngest is the Königheim landscape protection area, established in 2006 . The largest conservation area in the district is the Bad Mergentheim conservation area with an area of 4,044.0 hectares, the smallest is the Gewann Sensen und Tal northeast Eichswiesen with 4.8 hectares. According to the conservation area statistics of the State Institute for the Environment, Measurements and Nature Conservation Baden-Württemberg (LUBW ) 26,609.6 hectares of the 130,440 hectare circular area are under landscape protection, which is 20.4 percent.
