Twenty times the Neckar valley turns between Rottweil and Aistaig, cutting 80–140 m deep into the landscape. In 20 side valleys, the tributaries and streams have dug themselves into the uniform plateau and divided it up. Castles and ruins greet you from the slopes of the valley; Circulating mountains. It is a river landscape that has no counterpart in Swabian countries. This morphology determines the conditions of the Triassic and the struggle for the European watershed.
