The Eschachtal is a landscape protection area designated by the Rottweil District Office on March 26, 1990 by ordinance in the area of ​​the municipality of Zimmer ob Rottweil and the city of Rottweil .

The Eschachtal conservation area extends from the Horgen district of Zimmer to the Bühlingen district of Rottweiler in the Eschach valley .

Landscape character

The steep slopes of the Eschach Valley are mostly forested east of Horgen. The valley between Unterrotenstein and Eckhof is more open and some juniper heaths can be found on the valley slopes. The protected landscape area is spanned by the Eschach Valley Bridge near Horgen .

history

The Eschach valley between Horgen and Bühlingen had been under landscape protection since 1953. With the new ordinance of the Eschachtal landscape protection area in 1990, the old landscape protection ordinance in the scope of the new landscape protection area became invalid.

Contiguous protected areas

The landscape protection area partially overlaps with the FFH area Baar, Eschach and the south-eastern Black Forest and is located in the Baar bird protection area . The rock at the former Schlößle Oberrotenstein is registered as an extensive natural monument.
