location
The approximately 3,630 (ha) large protected area of Baar, Eschach and Southeast Black Forest is located in the natural areas of Alb-Wutach , Baar , Baaralb and Upper Danube Valley , Central Black Forest , Upper Gau and Southeast Black Forest . The municipalities Aichhalden , Bösingen , Deißlingen , Dunningen , Fluorn-Winzeln , Rottweil , Schramberg and Zimmern ob Rottweil in the district of Rottweil , Bad Durrheim , Bräunlingen , Brigachtal , Dauchingen , Donaueschingen , Hüfingen , Königsfeld im Schwarzwald , Mönchweiler , Niedereschach , Sankt Georgen in the Black Forest , Unterkirnach , Villingen-Schwenningen and Vöhrenbach in the Black Forest-Baar district and Geisingen and Trossingen in the Tuttlingen district have shares in the FFH area.
description
The area has a north-south extension of approx. 42 km and is made up of numerous sub-areas. The nature of the landscape of the protected area is mainly determined by the many rivers such as Eschach , Brigach , Breg and the upper Danube to Geisingen. There are also several moors and forests in the area, such as the Schwenninger Moos , the Unterhölzer Wald or the Deggenreuschen-Rauschachen nature reserve .
history
The protected area was created by merging the original FFH areas 7817-341 “Eschachtal”, 7916-341 “Southeastern Black Forest near Villingen” and 8016-341 “Baar”. These have existed since 2005.
