The job pit is a landscape protection area in the area of ​​the city of Oberndorf am Neckar designated by the Rottweil District Office on February 1, 1953 by ordinance . It is also designated as a protected geotope "Doline pit".

location

The approximately 1.5 hectare landscape protection area Stellengrube lies south of the Beffendorf district , east of the county road 5522. It belongs to the natural area Obere Gäue .

Landscape character

It is a large, wooded sinkhole in the Upper Muschelkalk. The sinkhole is approximately 150 m long, 50 m wide and 8 m deep. In the sinkhole there is a source outlet that has been artificially dammed by a dam. In earlier times it served mainly as a cattle trough due to the increased sulfur content, but also as an emergency water supply for the Beffendorf citizens.
