The area surrounding the old Roman fort and the hedge area is a landscape protection area designated by ordinance on February 1, 1953 by the Rottweil district office in the area of ​​the municipality of Fluorn-Winzeln and the city of Schramberg .

location

The approx. 65 hectare protected landscape area “Surroundings of the old Roman fort and hedge area” is located between the Schramberg district of Waldmössingen and Winzeln, east of state road 422. It belongs to the Obere Gäue natural area .

Landscape character

It is a small-scale structured agricultural landscape with fields and grassland, divided by field hedges . There are some small forests in the southwest of the area. In the area on the Schafbühl is the Waldmössingen fort with a reconstructed watchtower, from which four Roman roads extend.
