Protection purpose
According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the main protection purpose is “the preservation of the steep impact slopes of the Prim and Neckar, which characterize the landscape, with semi-arid grass, shrubbery, natural mixed forests and rock areas, the richly structured upper slopes with bushes, hedgerows, dry meadows and orchards as well as an abandoned plaster stage with interesting succession stages. The protection also serves to secure valuable biotopes for rare animal and plant species, some of which are threatened with extinction. "
