The Main-Tauber-Tal area is an almost 3000 hectare landscape protection area in the area of the city of Tauberbischofsheim and the municipality of Werbach in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg . It was designated by ordinance of February 14, 1953 (LSG number 1.28.001) and is the oldest landscape protection area in the Main-Tauber district .
history
Originally, the landscape protection area covered large areas of the former Tauberbischofsheim district . Due to ordinances of the regional council of Stuttgart and the designation of new nature and landscape protection areas, the area decreased several times in the period from 1975 to 2005:
- By ordinance of May 30, 1975, the Hunsenberg nature reserve with an area of 7.6 hectares was designated within the landscape protection area.
- By ordinance of September 24, 1982 ( Kaltenberg nature reserve ), the area was reduced by 13 ha.
- The ordinance of April 1, 1985 ( landscape protection area Werbach ) reduced the area by 1320 ha.
- By ordinance of November 30, 1985 ( Kembachtal landscape protection area ) the area was reduced by 85 ha.
- By ordinance of February 14, 1986 ( Mehlberg nature reserve ), the area was reduced by 5 ha.
- By ordinance of May 10, 2005 ( Lauda-Königshofen nature reserve), the area was reduced by 2967 ha.
location
The nature reserve of around 2988 hectares belongs to the Tauberland . It is located in the area of the city of Tauberbischofsheim and the municipality of Werbach at an average altitude of about 185 m above sea level. NN . The conservation area is located in a breakthrough in the Tauber River through the layers of shell limestone and red sandstone .
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is the preservation of the landscape in the extent of the hatched area in the landscape protection map, insofar as natural development permits.
