Niedervellmar with Vellmar-West is a district of the municipality of Vellmar in the northern Hessian district of Kassel .

The place is 4.6 km north-northwest of Kassel in northern Hesse . In the west runs the federal road 7 and the state road 3386 runs through the place. The place has a stop on the railway line of the Hanover southern railway .

The village was first mentioned in a document in 775. In 1107 two places Vellmar were mentioned for the first time.

In Niedervellmar there is a primary school , a municipal day-care center and a multi-purpose hall .
