Nikita Sergejewitsch Alexejew ( Russian: Никита Сергеевич Алексеев ; born December 27, 1981 in Murmansk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with Severstal Tscherepowez in the Continental Hockey League .
Career
Nikita Alexejew began his career as a hockey player with the Erie Otters , for which he was active from 1998 to 2001 in the Ontario Hockey League . During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2000 in the first round as the eighth player of the Tampa Bay Lightning , for which he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2001/02 season . In the following season, the attacker was both for Tampa Bay, and for their farm team , the Springfield Falcons from the American Hockey League , on the ice. The Russian missed much of the 2003/04 season due to a shoulder injury while he bridged the lockout with the Springfield Falcons the following year.
After a season at HK Awangard Omsk in his Russian homeland, Alexejew returned to the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2006, for which he scored a total of twelve scorer points in 63 games before hitting their league rivals, the Chicago Blackhawks , shortly before the end of the trade deadline . was delivered. Before the 2007/08 season, the left-handed shooter received a contract as a free agent with Ak Bars Kazan , with whom he won the IIHF Continental Cup in 2008 and the Gagarin Cup for the first time in the 2008/09 season . In the 2009/10 season he was able to win the Gagarin Cup again with Ak Bars Kazan.
He left Ak Bars in January 2012, having previously missed a game due to a shoulder injury in the 2011/12 season. He was then committed to the end of the season by Severstal Tscherepowez . In October 2012 he was initially signed by HK Spartak Moscow , but did not play a game for the club. In November of the same year he returned to Severstal and scored 6 scorer points for Severstal in 32 games of the season.
