Career
Nikita Korowkin began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Taganai Zlatoust , from where he moved to HK Traktor Chelyabinsk , for whose second team he was active in the third-class Pervaya League in the 1999/2000 season . The defender then moved to North America, where he was initially active for four years in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League for the Kamloops Blazers and the Tri-City Americans . He was then committed by the San Diego Gulls , for whom he was on the ice from 2004 to 2006 in the ECHL . In the 2004/05 season he also came to two missions for the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League .
The 2006/07 season began Korowkin with the Phoenix Roadrunners in the ECHL, but left the franchise again after only six appearances and the Russian spent the entire remaining season with their league rivals Pensacola Ice Pilots . For the 2007/08 season , the right-handed shooter returned to his Russian homeland after a total of seven years in North America, where he received a contract with his ex-club HK Traktor Chelyabinsk from the Super League . There he came in his first season in professional hockey in Russia to a goal and three assists in a total of 32 games. When the HK tractor was included in the newly established Continental Hockey League for the 2008/09 season , Korowkin became a regular in Chelyabinsk.
In 2011 he moved to Vitjas Chekhov and completed 39 KHL games for his new club in the following season. For the following season he was committed by Amur Khabarovsk , before he returned to HK Vitjas a year later.
