Nina Mittelham (born November 23, 1996 in Willich ) is a German table tennis player . She has been playing in the 1st table tennis Bundesliga at ttc berlin eastside since 2018 . In 2018 she became European champion in doubles.
Career
youth
Mittelham began playing table tennis at the club DJK VfL Willich , which she left in 2006 for SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen . For the 2009/2010 season she moved to TuS Uentrop and played there in the women's regional league. After a year, she switched to DJK Holzbüttgen in 2010 , where she served in the 2nd women's division until 2012. In the youth field, she celebrated various successes: In 2011 she became the German female student champion in singles, doubles (with Katja Brauner) and mixed (with Kilian Ort ) as well as second in the German championships for girls in singles and doubles the following year . In the same year she became European U15 champion in singles and doubles (with Trosman (Israel)) and achieved a 2nd place with the team at the European Championships. For the 2012/13 season she moved to TuS Bad Driburg . In the 2013/2014 season she became champion in the 2nd women's Bundesliga and rose to the 1st women's Bundesliga, in which she still plays in the upper pair cross. In 2013 she became European U18 champion in singles, doubles (with Theresia Kraft) and mixed (with Kilian Ort). In 2014 she lost the final of the European Championships against Chantal Mantz 4-1.
Adults
As of 2012, Mittelham also competed internationally in the adult division, in the world rankings she achieved a place in the top 200 for the first time in April 2013, and in December she made it into the top 100. At the Croatia Open 2015 she reached the semi-finals in the U-21 division and won her first medal on the World Tour . In the same year she took part for the first time in the World Cup, in which she reached the round of 64 in singles and the round of 16 in doubles. At the team World Cup the following year, she was part of the German team that was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Japan, but was only used in one group game. In 2017, she then played every game at the European team championships and finished second with Germany.
In 2018 she was signed by the Bundesliga club ttc berlin eastside for a period of three years. At the European Championships in 2018 she won the doubles title together with Kristin Lang , and in October she was among the top 50 for the first time in the world rankings. In 2019 she took part in the Europe Top 16 for the first time , where she reached the quarter-finals, and was both in Doubles with Franziska Schreiner as well as German champion in singles. In the team competition of the European Games , she defeated individual European champion Li Qian and thus contributed to winning the gold medal, but a few months later at the European team , Germany surprisingly dropped out in the quarter-finals.
