This discography is an overview of the musical works of the American blues , soul and jazz singer Nina Simone . Since starting her career in 1959, Simone has been able to place albums and singles in the charts for over five decades. Even after her death in 2003, posthumous publications reached the charts. Only placements in the main charts are listed. Simone was also represented in the genre-specific jazz, adult contemporary and black music charts in various countries. According to sources and record awards, it has sold more than 1.9 million records to date. The most successful release by Simone is the album The Very Best of with over 600,000 units sold.
