Nina Sublatti ( Georgian ნინა სუბლატი Nina Sublati , civil Georgian სულაბერიძე Sulaberidze ; born January 31, 1995 in Moscow , Russia ) is a Georgian singer , composer and model . She represented Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna .

childhood

Sublatti was born in Moscow to Georgian parents. However, the family moved back to Georgia shortly after the birth. There she attended art school as a child and learned drawing, painting and sculpture . In 2008 she signed a contract with a fashion agency and started working as a model. In 2011 she began working with the singer Beta Ivanishvili under the Georgian Dream Studio label .

Career

Two years later she won the casting show Sakartwelos warskwlawi , the Georgian counterpart to Germany is looking for the superstar . In 2014 she released her debut album Dare to be Nina Sublatti , which became the best-selling album of the year in Georgia.

At the end of December 2014 she was presented as one of five participants in the Georgian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna , where she won the final on January 14, 2015 with the song Warrior (in German: Kriegerin). With the same song she took part in the competition in Austria . At the 1st semi-final on May 19, 2015, she started as 16th and qualified for the final. There she finally reached eleventh place.

Personal

She names Janis Joplin , Brian Molko and Björk as role models . Her many self-designed tattoos are also striking.
