Nobuko Fujimura

Nobuko Fujimura ( Japanese 藤 村 信 子 , Fujimura Nobuko, after marriage Nobuko Higo, 比 護 信 子 , Higo Nobuko ; born December 18, 1965 in Kameoka ) is a former Japanese marathon runner .

In 1993 she finished fourth in the Osaka Women's Marathon and won the Hokkaidō Marathon . The following year she was second in Osaka, at the same time as the winner, her compatriot Tomoe Abe , in the national record time of 2:26:09 h. At the Asian Games in Hiroshima , she won the bronze medal.

In 1995 she was third in the Paris Marathon , followed by an eighth place in Osaka and a third in the Boston Marathon in 1996, where she won the Tokyo International Women's Marathon .

At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , she came tenth.

With a 15th place in Osaka 1998 she ended her competitive sports career.

Nobuko Fujimura is a graduate of Osaka Sports University .
