Nora Imlau

Nora Imlau (born May 9, 1983 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German journalist and book author . She writes primarily on family issues and is a well-known representative of attachment-oriented parenting .

Life

After finishing school in Baden-Württemberg and studying in Marburg and Vancouver , Imlau began her professional career in 2007 as a freelance journalist and specialist author on family topics. In the following years she wrote cover stories and designed special issues, among others for the magazines Eltern und Eltern family from Gruner + Jahr , but also, for example, the magazine Chrismon , the midwives forum, the Unbred magazine and Zeit Online .

In addition to working as a journalist, Imlau wrote several non-fiction books for parents, including “Schlaf gut, Baby” (together with Herbert Renz-Polster ), “Babybauchzeit” (together with midwife Sabine Pfützner) and “My competent baby”. Her guidebook “So much joy, so much anger” about emotionally strong children, published by Kösel Verlag in 2018, became a bestseller. The follow-up volume "You are different, you are good" appeared in autumn 2019 and became a bestseller.

As a speaker for family issues, Imlau appears at events and congresses. As an ambassador for the Mother Hood parents' initiative, she advocates the rights of pregnant women and young parents as well as individual midwifery support and freedom of choice in obstetrics .

The mother of four lives with her family in Leipzig .
