The Futsal-Regionalliga Nord is the highest futsal league in the area of the North German Football Association . The league was introduced in 2017 as the successor to the North German Futsal Championship and serves as a qualification for the German Futsal Championship .

history

In 2006 the German Football Association hosted the DFB Futsal Cup , the forerunner of the German Futsal Championship, for the first time. For the tournament in Göttingen , the clubs organized their own qualification, the mode and results of which are unknown. It was not until a year later that the North German Football Association set up a qualifying tournament under its own direction. The Hamburg Panthers have won the DFB Futsal Cup three times, making them record champions. VfV 06 Hildesheim was twice runner-up. The SVG Göttingen 07 and the MSV Hamburg each have one runner-up .

On May 23, 2017, the Executive Committee of the North German Football Association decided to introduce the Regionalliga Nord for the 2017/18 season. Previously, many clubs requested such a league from the association in order to ensure a better competitive situation and thus reliable comparability. The regional associations in west, south and north-east Germany had previously founded corresponding regional leagues. The HSV Panthers secured the first championship of the new league in the debut season .

mode

In the Regionalliga Nord eight teams play against each other in the league system . There are three points for a win, one point for a draw and no point for a loss. After the round is over, the master and runner-up qualify for the German Futsal Championship.
