history

Suchsdorf SV with the club colors blue and white was founded in Suchsdorf on May 31, 1921 by nine men, two of whom became the first two presidents. From the founding to the previous years of the Second World War , soccer (regular games from 1922), athletics , table tennis and gymnastics were the determining sports. After an interruption from 1934 to 1948, club life with football, table tennis and gymnastics was resumed, but until 1965 there was no training on the company's own sports fields. After Suchsdorf was incorporated into the city of Kiel in 1958 , the problem was solved after seven years when the Grandplatz was completed at the Suchsdorf primary school . A small sports hall followed three years later, which enabled handball and volleyball to be played alongside table tennis and gymnastics . From 1974 to 1975 the club's own sports center was built on Alten Steenbeker Weg with parking spaces, and in 1976 the tennis facility and the football ground opened with a game against VfR Neumünster . Due to the new facilities in the northeast of Suchsdorf, the association received a large increase in membership, which led to an upswing for the following years.

In 2001 the large sports hall on Nienbrügger Weg was completed, creating the new badminton and basketball departments in the club. The club's greatest sporting success in 2015 was the promotion of the 1st men's tennis team to the 2nd Bundesliga , in which the team has been active ever since.
