history

The Jöns farm, which is the cultural center of the place and which is verifiably built in 1526, is the second oldest building in the place. The farmer's bell , which is typical for the Stapelhomer villages , was erected in Norderstapel in 1773.

From 1901 to 1934 Norderstapel had a stop and a train station on the Schleswig - Friedrichstadt line of the Schleswig District Railway, and from 1910 to 1974 a train station on the Reichsbahn or Bundesbahn route Husum - Rendsburg .

On March 1, 2018, the municipalities of Süderstapel and Norderstapel merged to form the municipality of Stapel. The citizens decided on the merger in a referendum on September 24, 2017, which took place at the same time as the general election. The approval rate in both communities was around 60%.

coat of arms

Blazon : "Under the three-fold golden shield head in green an upright, short, top and bottom with a knob terminating, in the middle thickening golden rod, which with its lower half covers a silver wave bar."

The golden " mortar club ", which is also defined as the "pillar of jurisdiction", indicates that the municipality used to be a place of justice. This "Mörserkeule" also characterizes the coat of arms of the municipality of Süderstapel . With the use of this symbol, the municipality of Norderstapel would like to express its extremely close spatial, cultural and socio-political ties with Süderstapel. The Dreiberg in the Schildhaupt symbolizes the “Twiebarg”, a characteristic inland dune that shapes the hilly silhouette of the landscape around the town. The green background refers to the lowlands of the surrounding river landscape, the silver wavy bar symbolizes the Treene that borders the municipality to the north and west.

economy

The place is predominantly agricultural.
