Coordinates: 64 ° 55 ' N , 19 ° 29' O Norsjö is a municipality ( Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province Västerbottens Lan and the historical province Vasterbotten . The main town of the municipality is Norsjö .
Other places are Bastuträsk , Bjursele , Kvarnåsen , Mensträsk , Svansele u. a. m. The Vännäs – Boden railway and regional roads 370 and 365 run through the municipality .
geography
The municipality is located in the foothills of the Scandinavian Mountains and is characterized by a hilly landscape. The municipality is wooded and criss-crossed by extensive wetlands and numerous lakes. The Skellefte älv flows through the municipality .
economy
Forestry and the wood processing industry are important branches of the economy.
Attractions
Sweden's longest cable car is located in the municipality , spanning the 13 kilometers between Örträsk and Mensträsk. It is located about 25 km north of Norsjö. It is the remainder of the 96 kilometer long ore cable car between Kristineberg and Boliden and is now used for tourist purposes.

- The wildlife center in Svansele, 20 km northeast of Norsjö, shows the region's fauna using stuffed animals. Hunting methods and life on the river are also shown.
