Nueva Paz is a municipality and a city in the Cuban province of Mayabeque . Until 2010 the municipality was part of the dissolved province of La Habana .
The city is south of Madruga and east of San Nicolás de Bari . The settlement was officially established in 1802.
The municipality has 24,277 inhabitants on an area of 515 km², which corresponds to a population density of 47.1 inhabitants per square kilometer.
The municipality is divided into eight districts ( barrio ): Bagáez, Ciudad, Jagua, Navarra, Palos, San Luis, Vegas and Yaya.
