Oļegs Maļuhins

Oļegs Maļuhins (* Russian Олег Малюхин , May 6, 1969 in Daugavpils ) is a former Latvian biathlete .

Athletic career

Maļuhins was active in the biathlon world cup between 1992 and 2004 . His only victory came in 1999 in Valcartier, Canada . Overall, he achieved a place in the top five seven times in World Cup races. The best time of his career was from 1997 to 2000, when he was among the top 20 in the overall World Cup at the end of each season.

Maļuhins took part in a total of five times in the Winter Olympics. His best placement was 6th place in the sprint (1998, Nagano ). Also in the relay race, Maļuhins finished 6th with the Latvian team. In 2006 in Turin , Ma tratuhins competed in cross-country skiing . Here, however, he couldn't keep up with the world's elite. He retired early in qualifying for the sprint and was one of the last to cross the finish line in the 50 km mass start, a long way behind.
