The ORF-Enterprise GmbH & Co KG , as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Austrian broadcasting company, exclusively markets the advertising times and offers of all media and brands of the Austrian broadcasting company ( ORF ). These include two national full TV programs ( ORF eins , ORF 2 , ORF III , ORF Sport + ), three national and nine regional radio programs ( Ö1 , Ö3 , FM4 , Austria-Regional Ö2 ), as well as the country's most successful internet platform with 28 channelswith thematically different focuses. Since November 2013 ORF-Enterprise has also been marketing ORF TVthek.

The advertising revenues generated by ORF-Enterprise GmbH & Co KG represent more than 20% percent of the revenues of the public ORF . These benefit the budget of the ORF programs and thus serve the quality assurance of the media company. ORF-Enterprise GmbH & Co KG currently employs around 100 people.

International content distribution

ORF-Enterprise licenses TV programs as well as excerpts ( footage ) and archive material from ORF and from independent producers and is responsible for their distribution on a national and international level. Austrian TV formats, including documentaries such as the internationally successful and award-winning documentary series Universum , series such as Fast Determined , Four Women and a Death , SOKO Kitzbühel and children's programs such as the researcher express by Thomas Brezina as well as classical music productions, are sent to TV stations worldwide, Producers, DVD dealers or video on demand platforms.

ORF-Enterprise music publisher

The ORF-Enterprise Musikverlag is responsible for the worldwide reproduction and distribution ( exploitation ) of musical works that are created on behalf of the ORF. TV music, signations , sound surfaces, rock / pop, chill out / lounge, real folk music through to piano and orchestral works can be found in the publisher's repertoire. The collecting societies are responsible for distributing the royalties . Since ORF Musikverlag was founded, the proportion of Austrian music on television has risen sharply.

Creative promotion

ORF-Enterprise established its own competitions to promote domestic creativity. This includes the ORF-Onward audience award for the best online advertising , the top spot for the best TV spot and the ORf advertising cock for the best national radio spots. ORF Enterprise cooperates on an international level and is the official representative of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity . Within this framework, ORF-Enterprise organizes the Young Lions competition for young creative people in Austria every year.

Sister company

ORF Promotion & Programmservice GmbH & Co KG (ORF-P) is the sister company of ORF-Enterprise GmbH & Co KG and a subsidiary of ORF-Enterprise GmbH. She is responsible for the ORF deaf service. The subtitling for around 500,000 deaf and severely hard of hearing in Austria is one of the most important tasks performed by the ORF. With a subtitling rate of more than 60%, ORF one and ORF 2 are currently in the top field of private and public European broadcasters. Since 2013, ORF has continuously increased its barrier-free broadcast programs for deaf and hearing-impaired people. The goal for 2014 is to stabilize the subtitling quota in terms of quality. With the increase in the subtitling quota, accessibility on the ORF TVthek and other online platforms can also be expanded.

Furthermore, ORF-P is responsible for the technical and administrative operation of the TVthek.

Holdings

In 2014, the ORF subsidiaries ORF-Enterprise and ORS comm took a 25.1 percent stake in the Austrian start-up Flimmit , the video-on-demand specialist for Austrian, German-language and European film. Flimmit was founded in 2007 by Karin Haager, Walter Huber and Uli Müller-Uri and has since been consistently expanded to become a provider of media content on the Internet from Austria.
