Oarabile Babolayi (born March 8, 1992 ) is a Botswana hurdler .

Athletic career

Oarabile Babolayi gained her first international experience in 2009 at the World Youth Championships in Brixen , where she was eliminated in the first round of the 400 meter hurdles with 62.29 seconds. The following year she took part in the 400-meter run at the African Championships in Nairobi , where she was eliminated with 55.86 s in the lead and finished with the Botswana 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 37.17 min fourth place. She then took part in the relay at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi , where she finished sixth in 3: 38.44 minutes. In 2011 she won the Junior African Championships inGaborone won the bronze medal in the 100 meter hurdles in 14.40 s , as well as over the longer distance in 60.88 s. In addition, she finished fourth with the relay in 3: 48.71 min. Then she was at the Africa Games in Maputo in 58.91 s seventh over 400 m hurdles. The following year, she retired from the African Championships in Porto-Novo with 58.37 seconds and won the silver medal behind Nigeria in 3: 31.27 minutes.

In 2013 she took part in the Summer Universiade in Kazan and was eliminated from the preliminary round in the individual competition with 66.05 seconds and with the relay in 3: 38.96 minutes. Babolayi then studied in the United States and did not take part in any international competitions. It was not until 2019 that she finished fifth in the hurdles at the African Games in Rabat with a new national record of 57.96 s and won the silver medal behind Nigeria in 3: 31.96 min.

In 2017, Babolayi became the Botswana champion in the 400 meter hurdles and in 2019 over the 100 m hurdles.
