Big tattoo 50 years of the Bundeswehr in Immendingen with Franz Josef Jung

From the stationed and repeatedly regrouped tank grenadier and field artillery units with supra-local agencies such as the Defense District Command (VKK) 532 and reserve hospital groups , Immendingen had joined the (field / tank) artillery battalion 295 , the tank pioneer company 550 and the 3rd French hussar regiment since October 1996 developed at a location of the Franco-German Brigade . After a decision by the French armed forces , the 3rd French Hussar Regiment was relocated to Metz in July 2011 .

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Immendingen location, a big tattoo took place on September 12, 2008 on the sports field of the municipality of Immendingen in the presence of the Federal Defense Minister Franz Josef Jung .

On October 26, 2011, Federal Defense Minister Thomas de Maizière announced the 2011 deployment concept , according to which the Immendingen site should be closed as part of a realignment and downsizing of the Bundeswehr. The municipal administration of Immendingen had also asked the Federal Defense Minister to close it after it became clear that Daimler AG wanted to settle in Immendingen.

The organizational measures provided for the relocation of the artillery battalion 295 and the armored pioneer company 550 to Stetten am kalten Markt . The tank pioneer company relocated to Stetten in March 2015, the artillery battalion 295 left the location in March 2016. The barracks were then closed.
