Oberorschel is a district of Niederorschel in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia .

location

Oberorschel is on the state road 2048 from Niederorschel to Kleinbartloff . The federal motorway 38 runs further north with a connection at Breitenworbis. The district lies at the foot of the Dün in the Eichsfelder Kessel and is used for agriculture.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1227. The former Oberorschel estate, which was owned by the von Hagen family, was located here. After the expropriation, parts of the manor house were torn down and several new farms were built.
