In the same year Vollenborn became the seat of a court of the imperial barons from Hagen ( Deuna ). The current church was built in 1711. From 1802 to 1807 the place became Prussian and then became part of the Kingdom of Westphalia . From 1815 to 1945 it was part of the Prussian province of Saxony and belonged to the district of Worbis . The building and park of the former manor Vollenborn were taken over by the then Reich Labor Service in 1933 . From 1945 to 1949 the place was part of the Soviet occupation zone and from 1949 part of the GDR . Since 1990 the place belongs to the re-established state of Thuringia.
Since February 4, 1991 it has belonged to the Eichsfelder Kessel administrative association. With effect from December 31, 2013, Vollenborn was incorporated into the municipality of Deuna . The municipality of Deuna, in turn, was incorporated into Niederorschel on January 1, 2019.
