use

S 421 is used as a synergist for insecticides . It was approved in Germany until 1989, where it was used together with methoxychlor . Today it is not approved as a crop protection agent in the European Union or in Switzerland .

In China, S 421 is added to pyrethroids on a large scale . However, it is less effective than piperonyl butoxide .
