Ofenbach is a living space within the boundaries of Crailsheim district of West Gart Hausen in the district of Schwäbisch Hall in Baden-Wuerttemberg .

Ofenbach is located about 5 km southeast of Crailsheim on a dead end street . The state road L 2218 runs not far to the north, while the 15.4 hectare nature reserve Hammersbachtal extends north-east of Westgartshausen . The suburb has eight houses and 28 residents.

history

Ofenbach was first mentioned in 1357 in the Hohenlohe list of goods . The name is derived from either a Koehler - / Pechofen , from a personal name, or whether the Bah from slurred because the place as a typical clearing system above the sword creek is. In 1357 the place belonged to the Hohenlohe office of Crailsheim, which in 1399 came to the burgraves of Nuremberg and Ansbach. In 1500 there were various village lords: In addition to Ansbach, the Anhausen monastery, the Geyer von Goldbach as helpless Steiners, the chapel of Our Lady in Crailsheim and the Lienhardspfründe in Dinkelsbühl. Each of these different lords exercised the bailiwick over his own property. Local authority and high jurisdiction lay with Ansbach.
