The Hammersbachtal nature reserve northeast of Westgartshausen is in the area of the city of Crailsheim in the Schwäbisch Hall district in Baden-Württemberg .
The area extends east of the core city of Crailsheim and east and northeast of Westgartshausen , a district of Crailsheim. The state road L 2218 runs to the south and the 30.8 hectare nature reserve Wacholderberg-Geigerswasen extends to the west .
meaning
The 15.4 hectare area has been registered under NSG no. 1,207 designated as a nature reserve. It is a "scenic valley that stands with its moist valley floor with typical wet and floodplain vegetation in ecologically and scenically valuable contrast to the dry heathland on the slopes". The area includes alder forests in the floodplain area, large sedge and culturally and historically significant, heather-like valley slopes created by sheep grazing.
