Okandjire is the only settlement in the Omatako constituency in the Otjozondjupa region of Namibia. The place is at the intersection of three secondary roads , the D2102, D2172 and D2188, about 40 kilometers east of Okahandja and the Von Bach Dam .
Okandjira is historically known for the battle that broke out there on March 4, 1904 between the Herero and the protection force for German South West Africa ( Battle of Okandjire ).
The settlement has a Namibian police station and a combined school.
